We can have our driver’s licence on national format in digital format that will be available on our phones. You can bring the digital copy of your license from DigiLocker or the mParivahan app or from the Sarathi Parivahan website. Process to Download Driving Licence

You can download driving licence in PDF format by two methods. More informations on the two methods can be found below:

Download Driving Licence on Sarathi Parivahan Service Portal

Sarathi Parivahan Service portal is an official site by the Government of India that help people with online for driving licenses and other transport service.

You can download a digital copy of driving licence through this portal.

• Open official website, parivahan. gov.in.
• Select “Online Services” from the top menu bar. A list of services will be displayed; choose “Driving License Related Services” from the list.

• Then, a new page will open where you will have to choose your state.
• Next, you will see the Sarathi Parivahan dashboard. Here, select ‘Print Driving Licence’ option under the Driving Licence heading.

• The Driving Licence Print page will be displayed. Enter your DL Application Number and Date of Birth; click on submit.

• Your driver’s license will be presented. Simply click “Print” to download the free PDF.

💡 You can download a learner’s licence by simply clicking the “Learner Licence” on the Sarathi Parivahan dashboard menu. Then chose “Print Learner’s Licence (Form -3)” from drop down. Enter your Application Number, Licence Number or Mobile Number along with your Date of Birth in order to download it.

Download Driving Licence from DigiLocker

The Government of India has created a digital repository called DigiLocker to protect sensitive documents like driving licence, Aadhaar and PAN card securely.

Once you carry a driving license on DigiLocker, then it’s legalized.

• Visit the DigiLocker webpage – digilocker.gov.in or app.
• Log in if you are a registered user; otherwise, sign up with a mobile number.
• After you have logged in, look for “Search Documents.” In the search box type “Driving Licence” and select “Driving Licence – Ministry of Road Transport and Highways”.

• A new page will open where you put in your licence number and press “Get Document”.
• Once issued with your DL, it will reflect in your issued documents tab in DigiLocker. There, you can download it and print it as a PDF.

The driver’s license bears the following information:

• Name
• Date of Birth
• Blood Group
• Father’s Name
• Address
• Driving Licence Number
• RTO
• Issue Date
• Validity Expiry Date
• Permitted Vehicle Categories

💡 mParivahan app also lets you enter your driving licence number to get your Virtual DL.

How to Download Driving Licence through mParivahan App?

• Download mParivahan App: Go to Google Play Store or Apple App Store and download the app “mParivahan.”
• Open the App: Open the up and give the required permission.
• Register or Log In: Register with mobile number and verify with OTP.
• Current subscribers: Sign in with your password.
• Access DL Section: Choose “Driving License” (DL) on the home page.
• Enter DL Details: Enter your Driving Licence number and your date of birth as on your DL.
• Create Virtual DL: Click “Add My Driving Licence” The app pulls and displays your virtual DL information.
• Download/View DL: Watch the virtual DL in the app, or download it as a PDF to read offline. Refer how you can further link the DigiLocker.

• The Virtual DL is legal for driving in India as it’s approved by the government.
• For physical DL forms, go to https://sarathi.parivahan.gov.in/.
• Make certain that all the specifics match that on your original DL to avoid errors.
